Jean Michel Basquiat (December 22, 1960 – August 12, 1988)
Basquiat started as a graffiti artist in New York circa 1977. He created the style of Neo-Expressionist paintings. He was in a rock band & was also a poet. He & Andy Warhol often collaborated on some paintings & were bestfriends. When Andy Warhol died on February 22, 1987, Basquiat became increasingly isolated, and his heroin addiction and depression grew more severe. He died at 27 of a Heroin overdose.
